The Mid West Pipeline is a transmission pipeline located in mid-west Western Australia. It was commissioned in 1999.
The Mid West Pipeline is owned by an unincorporated joint venture - the Mid West Pipeline Joint Venture. The joint venture parties are Horizon Power and Mid-West Pipeline Pty Ltd. Both parties have a 50 per cent interest in the pipeline. The Pipeline was previously operated by the APA Group, which had a 50 per cent interest in the pipeline. The other 50 per cent interest was held by Horizon Power.
The Mid West pipeline is 353 km in length, and has a width of 203/178 mm, and a capacity of 10.6 TJ/day. It transports gas from the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) near Geraldton to power generation for mining and minerals processing at Windimurra (Windimurra Vanadium Project), and for supply to Mount Magnet. The pipeline to Mount Magnet is a lateral transmission pipeline to the Mid West Pipeline known as the Mount Magnet Lateral Pipeline.
The Mid West Pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. On 20 June 2023, the ERAWA granted a five year Category 3 exemption under Part 23 to the Mid West Pipeline.
