The Brooklyn to Altona (Qenos) Pipeline is a transmission pipeline located in central Victoria near Melbourne. The pipeline is owned and operated by the APA Group.
The pipeline is 5 km in length and has a capacity of 5 TJ/day. The pipeline currently transmits natural gas from the APA Group’s Brooklyn Compressor Station to the Qenos Olefins chemical plant in Altona.
The Qenos Pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. On 13 December 2022, the AER granted a 5 year category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the Brooklyn to Altona Pipeline. On 30 November 2022, the AER granted a further 5 year categpru 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR.
The Brooklyn to Altona Pipeline was constructed in the mid-1970s. In October 2014, the previously ethane supplying pipeline was refitted to supply natural gas.
