QLD: Roma Distribution System

QLD: Roma Distribution System

The Roma Distribution System is a distribution network located in south Queensland. The system is owned and operated by Maranoa Regional Council (formerly Roma Town Council).

The Roma Distribution System is 70 km in length and serves approximately 300 customers in the town of Dalby. The Roma Distribution System’s throughput is 0.02 TJ/year.

The Roma Distribution System is connected to a gas field at Timbury Hills in the Surat basin, which is operated by Santos.

The Roma Distribution System is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. In 2002, the Queensland Minister for Mines and Energy (being the relevant minister) revoked coverage of the Dalby distribution system under the Gas Code, as recommended by the National Competition Council (NCC).
