QLD: GLNG Pipeline

QLD: GLNG Pipeline

The GLNG Pipeline is a transmission pipeline located in central and south-east Queensland. The pipeline is owned and operated by GLNG, which is a joint venture between Santos, Petronas, Total and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS).

The GLNG Pipeline is 435 km in length and has a capacity of 1430 TJ/day.

The GLNG Pipeline transports gas from GLNG’s coal seam gas fields at Fairview, Roma, Arcadia, Comet Ridge and Scotia in the Bowen-Surat basins in central Queensland to GLNG’s LNG processing facility at Curtis Island near Gladstone. Santos operates GLNG’s coal seam gas fields.

The GLNG Pipeline is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. In June 2013, the Commonwealth Minister (being the relevant minister) granted a 15 year non-coverage determination for the GLNG Pipeline. On 30 November 2022, the AER granted a 13 year category 1 and category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the GLNG Pipeline under the name GLNG Gas Transmission Pipeline.
