QLD: Fairview Laterals

QLD: Fairview Laterals

The Fairview Laterals (also known as the GLNG Lateral Pipelines) are transmission lateral pipelines located in central Queensland. The pipelines are owned by GLNG, which is a joint venture between Santos, Petronas, Total and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS).

There are two Fairview Lateral Pipelines. Fairview Lateral Pipeline PPL147 connects Fairview Compression Hub 5 to the Comet Ridge to Wallumbilla (CRWP) Loop and then flows into the Gas Transmission Pipeline (GTP) that transports to the GLNG Plant on Curtis Island. The 2016/2017 throughput of this pipeline was 42.6 PJ.

Fairview Lateral Pipeline PPL164 connects Fairview Compression Hub 4 to the Gas Transmission Pipeline (GTP) that transports to the GLNG Plant on Curtis Island. The 2016/2017 throughput of this pipeline was 78.1 PJ.

The Fairview Laterals are currently non-scheme pipelines, and are subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. On 30 November 2022, the AER granted a 5 year category 1 and category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the Fairview Laterals under the names GLNG Lateral Pipeline (Fairview) PPL 147 and GLNG Lateral Pipeline (Fairview) PPL 164.
