The Mt Todd Lateral (also known as the Mt Todd Pipeline) is a lateral transmission pipeline in the central region of the Northern Territory. The pipeline is owned and operated by APT Pipelines, a subsidiary of the APA Group.
The Mt Todd Lateral supplied gas from the Amadeus Gas Pipeline to fuel the power station at the Mt Todd mine. The Mt Todd mine closed in 2006-2007, and no gas deliveries have occurred since that time. However, Vista has completed a feasibility study for a Mt Todd mining project and have expressed interest in using the pipeline to supply natural gas for the project.
The Mt Todd Lateral is currently a non-scheme pipeline, and is subject to the access regime for non-scheme pipelines under Chapter 6A of the NGL and Part 23 of the NGR. On 13 December 2017 the AER granted a 5 year category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for the Mt Todd Lateral.
On 30 November 2022, the AER granted a 5 year category 2 exemption under Part 23 of the NGR for Mt Todd Lateral.
The Mt Todd Lateral was commissioned in October 1996.
