Chairman of the Australian Energy Market Commission, John Pierce, today announced the resignation of Chief Executive, Steven Graham.
“Under Steve’s stewardship the AEMC has grown significantly as a professional and competent organisation which is widely respected as statutory rule maker for the energy market and strategic adviser to federal, state and territory ministers on the Standing Council on Energy and Resources,” Mr Pierce said.
“Since his appointment in 2006, Steve has built a team which has enabled the Commission to fulfil its role effectively across Australia’s electricity and gas sectors.
“The organisation has benefitted greatly from his broad commercial and organisational management experience, as well as his advice and guidance on implementation of the AEMC’s extensive work program.
“Steve’s resignation will take effect on the appointment of his successor.
“On behalf of the other Commissioners, Brian Spalding and Neville Henderson I would like to thank Steve most sincerely for his valued contributions over the last seven years,” Mr Pierce said.
The AEMC Chief Executive position will be advertised in the Australian Financial Review on Friday 7 June 2013. Watermark Search has been appointed to manage the executive search process and all inquiries should be directed to them.
